In my opinion, the only plastic suitable for warm food is polypropylene and below 103°C. Polyethylene and polystyrene are yucky for food contact, and rubbers (including chewing gum) are horrible for food contact. Silicone Iām not sure about since I havenāt properly studied it, but it seems like the fourth non miscible fluid (of ionic like water, greasy like oil, metallic like solder, and silicones), but if thereās a plastic food product and it doesnāt claim to be PP or silicone I will try not to use it. I like to get my food very very hot and crispy so polypropylene isnāt suitable for me.
