i aināt a professional psych person of any stripe, and personally donāt put much stock in the concept of laziness, but if his ālazinessā is hurting his relationships, and costing him jobs, well, that definitely sounds like something a psych would want to address.
to me it seems far more rude to label him as lazy, cause despite how you might view it, to the rest of society being lazy is fundamentally a moral failure. itās a way of saying that someone is just bad for not working hard enough, and ignores the many many justifications and reasons for peoples behaviour.

To me and mine, heās work-shy and lazy, not a moral failure or anything but itās just how some people can be.
I think itās pretty insulting, presumptive, and rude to call him mentally ill because of that to be honest.

I donāt think heās bad for not working hard enough. I donāt think heās mentally ill though.
I think if you called any person ālazyā vs āmentally illā, youād probably see a difference in reaction.
