Americans are genetically predisposed to believing that if they just bury their heads in the sand a little deeper all their problems will magically disappear. It’s the American way, hearing bad stuff is big scary for the baby.

Putin exploits right wing grievances to get Trump, exploits trump’s grievances (weaknesses, IMO) to get what he wants.
