Fuck parents that try to decide life for their kids and impose their will on them.
My parents were like this and I was a good boy up until university once I started failing engineering.
Tried to suicide by police but here in Canada they just take you to a mental hospital instead of filling you with lead.
Moral of the story is let your kids be themselves and don’t make them feel bad for having their own interests even if it is not in engineering

Often enough “saying no” falls under things they couldn’t do
I’m okay with most of what my kids say they want to be when they grow up, but I really hope my son outgrows his police officer phase. If nothing else, I don’t want his parentage called into question.
