Rattlesnakes aren’t even all that triggerhappy. A guy in Arizona went around the desert with a proxy leg and “stepped” on over 150 rattlers and for the most part, the snakes just wanted to get away. I think he said 6 of them chose to bite the leg

I was once halfway through climbing through a barbed wire fence when I noticed one directly under me. Pants shittingest moment of my life. Fortunately we both maintained our chill and there were no fatalities.

Seriously though keep your distance from critters, if you don’t it’s a fast way to turn an awesome day out into thousands (if not 10s of thousands) of dollars in emergency medical bills.
