I agree, it takes a lot of copium to believe that all of this “phasing out by 2050” shit itsnt straight pandering. Its like a smoker with lung cancer saying they’ll quit in a few years. We are hopelessly addicted to our lifestyles that depend on fossil fuels. The only one thats ultimately going to shift our society is mother nature when she eradicates us through famine, extreme weather and chaos

seeing the incumbent party in my home country watering down environmental protection rules to benefit(and later benefit from) crony capitalist friends even as they persecute activists, I think it’s over.

The problem is you can’t get people to organize and work together if everyone is worried about where to get their next meal. Hell, people can barely even do that now; how much more when that time comes.
That’s exactly when people come to work together. The French Revolution happened because people were starving.

Their precious economies can’t survive beyond 2050. Damages from climate disasters will be big enough to make every economy shrink and make the Great Depression look like child’s play.
