The website isn’t worthless so much as the watermark on memes.
“Lemmy is a selfhosted social link aggregation and discussion platform.”
Non-techie people: wat
ikr all that join-lemmy needs to do is list a bunch of servers and say: browse these, click Join if you like it.
Even that is too hard for most people, you need to be able to download an app from the appstore and register in under 2 minutes, then lemmy needs to provide enough interesting content easily for the average person to stay.
Lemmy doesn’t aim to captivate and take over your attention like most social media does. If that’s what people want, they should stick to their other platforms.
yes
Then again, there can be any kind of mix of different instances on a server so maybe the uptime + the rules is even more important?
https://lemmy-status.org ? (Disclosure, yes I run it)
Cool site!
Just a question, you say my instance have like 8 users which is maybe correct, but this site says it’s like a hundred:
https://img.shields.io/lemmy/moebius_art%40lemmy.mindoki.com?logo=lemmy&label=Total Subscribers
So maybe I’m mixing stuff up, but I have already had like 10+ upvotes on a post, so are they “users” ?
Cheers and continue the good work!
I go off FediDB for my stats. so it needs to be above x users for it to get added. Also TY TY <3
No one reads the watermarks on an image anyway because everyone assumes them to be from meme generators.
Or 9gag
Just overlay every single watermark ontop of eachother.

Lemmy is like reddit but instead of reddit mods we have instance mommies. Lemmy.blahaj.zone <3
