Reddit used to work like this but nuked it many years ago. I like it because it gives much more information about the consensus at a glance.

There currently isn’t a way to see upvotes and downvotes separately in Sync, but it’s listed as an enhancement request on GitHub.

I actually prefer the way it is now, just showing the summed total. The dev did add the upvote percentage in posts, which is good enough for me. I think the way that it looks in other apps, like Jerboa, showing the total number of upvotes and downvotes, looks messy, and not very clean looking. That’s just my opinion though. If the dev does decide to add this, that would be fine, I just hope there’s an option to turn it off.

I think the option might be cool, but I really don’t give a shit about up or downvotes either way.

And… I assumed some other people were still experimenting with apps for lemmy and might like to know that this feature is available in at least one of them, to help them decide. I don’t quite understand why my honest attempt to provide useful information upset so many people.

It means that the data is available from the apis, i.e yes, it is possible (and a relevant response).

Sorry, genuinely didn’t realise telling you this would be so unhelpful to you, but now I realise that maybe you might prefer to just look in the settings on the app, if you don’t want to open up a discussion.
