Up from Conservatism advocates repeal of Civil Rights Act, investigations into ā€˜gay lifestyleā€™ and defunding childcare

In a December 2023 speech, JD Vance defended a notorious white nationalist convicted over 2016 election disinformation, canvassed the possibility of breaking up tech companies, attacked diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts and talked about a social media ā€œcensorship regimeā€ that ā€œcame from the deep state on some levelā€.

The senatorā€™s speech was given at the launch of a ā€œcounterrevolutionaryā€ book ā€“ praised by the now Republican vice-presidential candidate as ā€œgreatā€ ā€“ which was edited and mostly written by employees of the far-right Claremont Institute.

In the book, Up from Conservatism, the authors advocate for the repeal of the Civil Rights Act, for politicians to conduct ā€œdeep investigations into what the gay lifestyle actually does to peopleā€, that college and childcare be defunded and that rightwing governments ā€œpromote male-dominated industriesā€ in order to discourage female participation in the workplace.

Vanceā€™s endorsement of the book may raise further questions about his extremism, and that of his networks. The Guardian emailed Vanceā€™s Senate staff and the Trump and Vance campaign with detailed questions about his appearance at the launch, but received no response.

I donā€™t know if he saw dollar signs

He changed his tune and then what happened? He got to be VP nominee with a direct phone call to the money! I think you can safely say he saw dollar signs.

Bruh, itā€™s 2024 and weā€™re talking ā€œconservativesā€ on the national stage.

It could just be money, but itā€™s just as possible Russia got a hold of a video with him and an underage ottoman or he has literal and actual brain worms.

Whatever the reason, heā€™s a piece of shit now.
