  • Yeah, dude tried to open his own personal Netflix and is surprised it got taken down.

From post history he managed to keep it up for less than a month.

I’m betting by “friends” he meant either online friends he’s never met, or people he wanted to impress.

So they gave zero fucks and handed it out to more people. Like, just the idea that you’re giving it to so many people that you actually buy a domain?

There’s a reason everyone isn’t already doing it already.

  • If you had billions of dollars and it only cost 100s of thousands to buy either political party’s leaders…

    Por que no los dos?

It would be stupid to gamble when buying off both during the primaries was cheaper and guarantees the general doesn’t really matter.

For bonus points, neither primary is legally binding. At the end of the day, if you bought off the people running the parties, they can do what they want to ensure your pick wins.

The only thing crazier then donors not buying off both, is the people that say it would never happen. Like, this is politicians and corporations we’re talking about here… Throw lawyers in the mix and it’s a greatest hit of people who care about money and power over anything else.

  • Ever notice how the Party is tougher on progressives that belong to the party they’re protesting than they are on republicans trying to overthrow the national government?

    It’s weird, right?

Especially this year, Biden should be inviting protestors front and center and engaging in a dialog.

That would actually get him votes at least. Even if he doesn’t budge at all, a dialog gets more votes than police abuse.

Like, the only reason there’s protests to begin with is we can’t open a dialog.

It’s like Biden doesn’t even want to campaign for votes. He’s not putting the work in that traditional candidates do. Probably because most Dem presidents are much younger than Biden.

  • I got to meet Nappy Roots a while ago at a venue so small they didn’t even have a green room.

There was a backdoor to a parking lot the artists used, the door is on the opposite wall from the bathrooms.

Came out in a rush so I wouldn’t miss the start, and all of them were just chilling in the hallway because they were about to walk up.

I stopped paying Live Nation years ago, and I think others have as well.

Many of those tours are being sold through Ticketmaster and its parent Live Nation. And prior to facing landmark accusations that it is a monopoly, a claim it denies, Live Nation reported its biggest first quarter ever, with $3.8 billion in revenues. Its concerts business alone was up 26% to $2.9 billion, while “estimated fans” globally were up more than 20%, and up 42% in North America.

This is the natural result of unregulated capitalism.

They have the monopoly now, so they’ll keep raising prices even if it means they stop selling out.

It’s the profit margin that matters, so like rent prices it might be better for the company to leave some sitting on the table.

Especially with concerts where scalpers but everything and then resale. Live Nation isn’t not selling tickets, scalpers are buying them and then not offloading them.

  • We’ve known for years that Netanyahu allowed suitcases full of money across the border into Gaza that could only be going to Hamas.

But him going out and soliciting funding for Hamas…

That’s a whole nother thing. I know Netanyhu was already likely on the way out before, but I can’t see how the Israelis let him stay in control after this.

He’s literally the reason all this is happening because the only way his group maintains power is if voters are scared. So he created a reason for them to be scared.

Obviously not, but considering you’re having difficulty understanding basic rules that exist on every form of social media, there was probably a good reason for the first one.

Lemmy is the easiest to get away with it, but you keep making similar versions of the same username and immediately talking about how you’re evading bans.

Like, it’s hard to believe you’re really not able to understand this, which would leave trolling as the only explanation for your behavior

  • Not sure what you’re thinking of but this is the start of the article I guess…

Palestinian civil defence crews have uncovered a mass grave inside the Nasser Medical Complex in Gaza’s Khan Younis, with 180 bodies recovered so far, Al Jazeera has learned, as Israel has continued bombardment of the devastated coastal enclave for more than six months.

The discovery on Saturday, and continuing into Sunday, comes after the Israeli military withdrew its troops from the southern city on April 7. Much of the Khan Younis is now in ruins after months of relentless Israeli bombardment and heavy fighting.

“In the hospital courtyard, civil defence members and paramedics have retrieved 180 bodies buried in this mass grave by the Israeli military. The bodies include elderly women, children and young men,” Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud reporting from Khan Younis said on Sunday.

It would have been about 35 minutes faster to click the link tho

  • insanely dystopian

    In a way…

But compare that to countries where no one can hold you accountable for being an asshole. You end up with people trying to out asshole each other, in my state it’s not abnormal to hear about road rage leading to shootings in traffic.

But when you look back at the vast majority of human history, this was the type of shit most enforced:

Don’t be a lying asshole and get the whole tribe worked up because you wanted attention.

Now, if this happened because she said a government official was an asshole, or that society could be better…

    That would be insanely dystopian
