    Well, kind of.

They showed the interior of the earth with other megafauna, but how exactly Godzilla or Kong are getting their caloric intake satisfied on a regular basis is somewhat of a question regardless.

Godzilla especially… feeds on radiation? But not just like, consuming uranium ore. He can take a full thermonuclear blast to the face and seemingly heals bodily injury. Maybe makes him feel really full too?

It’s handwaved at best, which is fine. Trying to figure out how Kaiju work is like trying to explain The Force with physics. It’s just magic, don’t worry about it.

I mean, kinda? They’re also heavily descended from 7th Century AD Arabic conquerors, but yes, many other natives may have adopted Arabic culture, language and religion at that time.

But Jewish culture is also derived from the Canaanite culture, with arguably more overlap. Jewish culture in the region can be traced back to at least the 9th Century BC, with the literal Kingdom of Israel. So the argument of “Well who was there first?” does not necessarily favor the Palestinians over the Israelis.

This has always been happening though. It’s not like the Ottomans took over the region peacefully. It’s been conquered and re-conquered by Babylonians, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans…

  • Escalators vs elevators is maybe a good example of the concept in theory, but in practice escalators are the worse design of the two, and they don’t necessarily compete anyway.

Escalators are either slightly faster stairs or stairs for the sedentary. Their only practical advantage is clearing high-volume areas quickly, like transit stations. But otherwise, they are worse stairs - costly, narrow, power consuming mechanical stairs that require regular maintenance. Elevators are an accessibility feature. They allow easy movement of the handicapped and large cargo, and can move many, many floors quickly. Nobody is taking escalators to the 57th floor of a building.

Not to say escalators don’t have that advantage of failing in a useful way, just that they don’t do anything stairs don’t already do. Nothing else really does what elevators do.

Better example may be, say, ebikes or hybrid cars, provided they don’t lock up the conventional drive system in the event the electric portion fails.

Since when is it liberal to be opposed to Russia? It’s been a conservative Western policy since the Cold War.

You said “directly responsible,” which means all or most of the blame in a given situation. No one uses American English to claim something is directly responsible but not also majority responsible.

Also, I never even actually said that you claimed the US was solely responsible. I just said Russia was solely responsible, because they chose to invade. If you’re conceding you meant the US is solely responsible though and are walking back that inane argument, understood, but maybe just stop licking Putin’s boot and go read a history book for fucks sake.

Yeah I wonder why, maybe it’s because they are directly responsible for the current war.

Russia invaded Ukraine. Russia is responsible for the current war. Stop drinking the commie kool-aid.

You can whine about NATO and geopolitics all you want, at the end of the day Russia could simply have chosen not to invade Ukraine and NATO would not be dumping the entire alliance’s 40 year stockpile into the conflict.

  • Thinner people are healthier in that they won’t suffer from the same medical issues that plague the obese. A thin person might have high cholesterol, but they’re not going to also have the same increase chance of heart disease an obese person will see. No individual who’s 300lbs is healthy, obesity in and of itself is the disease. The fact thin people suffer from other, non-weight related diseases doesn’t mean there is not point in not maintaining a healthy weight.

Food insecurity is not a solution to the obesity epidemic, but eating a couple hundred calories per day less than maintenance is also not starvation. And ensuring healthy foods and produce are more affordable than unhealthy and high-processed alternatives is a great way to kill two birds with one stone.
