That sounds not ya I’m sure it stops a , as long as the actual password is also strong. IMO there’s still some vulnerability. If someone finds out your password and notices thepattern ‘pass+Site’, then they mighttryyon another site.

Yes that’s definitely a concern to keep in mind.

The problem is that if someone doesn’t use a password manager they’re morenlikely to reuse weak ones.

Using a password manager is a better path, as long as there is awareness on how to keep it secured.

honestly i don’t know what you did to mess up a windows install like that, but i agree overall that linux is easier. However there are quirks that can arise for a new user that will eat time or seem daunting.

well, i guess some silver lining is that threads is basically non-existent after its launch. The serious and place to be instances will block threads. If i need to go see something on threads i’ll join an instance that allows it, but doubt i’d ever bother.

At this point where he is basically stripping the site of its users (paid + limits) and branding (removing the twitter bird) why didn’t he just start up his own social media site and slow grow it instead of wasting money to pillage the competitor and then strip it of everything that made it what it was, i.e., the user base and the brand recognition?

I agree, affinity programs are really good and i’d rather see those on linux

that’s how it goes. we’re in this transformation but most people don’t notice it because they experience the world and things seem to be ok (for now, or they are distracted by some other insignificant thing), and this is not even mentioning the economic and political obstacles that block any meaningful change.

I think the likely scenario is people won’t seriously start to be concerned (and by serious i mean taking proactive steps across their individual and social lives) until this situation further develops and it will be a bit too late. I hope i’m wrong.

After viewing a few posts it almost always blocks and asks me to login. For years. I just don’t go on Instagram anymore as a result. Twitter and reddit, take notice

You can at least view threads without logging in? That’s better than instagram usually forces login. Still won’t use it.
