Giving Gold supports the contributors you love
Is… is this implying the person who got gilded gets a cut? Huh?
I agree, if I subscribe to a community that has 2 posts a week, I wanna see those posts, eben if they have no comments. I wonder if a lemmy equivalent to a multireddit could also help? In a multireddit you could group communities into one separate feed (like just create a multireddit “cats” and add all cat related subreddits to this multireddit, and then you could see all cat related content within one feed.
Its not as good a solution as to have the algorithm push it, but maybe there’s a lemmy functionality I’m unaware of that could already emulate this process.
I’m pretty sure this wp is the source
Kinda makes me wonder how john would react if they ever tried to come back (which they won’t). But I’d reckon not well.
We had to kill him, he gave the prime minister cooties
It’s called a mast year. Every 3 to 5 years the trees in an area produce an enormous amount of fruit, then on the next year it’s super low. Scientists think the trees produce more mast (botanical term for fruit of forest trees and shrubs, like acorns etc) than the animals could possibly eat, which guarantees that some seeds can grow into saplings. We don’t know exactly what triggers it though.
That’s what gets me about flat earthers. The “best” explanation I’ve seen is that it would show the Bible is true and the elites don’t want us to believe in God, but… would it show the Bible is true? Why even start this century long lie in the first place? I don’t think discovering the earth is round is what pushed people into secularism in the first place, and revealing now it was wrong wouldn’t get people into religion?
You should get into crossfit. Or ultramarathons.
Don’t chop me down,
I’m having such a good time,
I’m having a ball
To be fair, this would probably still be considered very unusual in Germany. You’re not obligated to do a while song and dance, but uf you do this I would assume it’s a very deadpan joke.
I don’t get what that’s trying to show me
Yeah, I know some of them are really niche, and centered around common experiences, not a piece of IP, which are usually communities that really profit from being in one place. I’ll surely check out solarpunk tho. Thanks!
I’m just gonna list almost all of the subreddits I had faved in the hope someone knows at least something. Though i am not that hopeful. :/

Tbh I’m not super down with lemmy yet. It feel like too much like an r/all experience with very little users. Most of my feed at reddit was very niche communities that either connected me to people like myself or gave me a window in the lives of people totally unlike myself. Here I see some news, redditbashing or meta comments about lemmy and a lot of technology/privacy content that I’m just not interested in. Even if I find niche communities, they have no posts. Maybe this will get better over time, but I’m not sure if I’ll stick around for that long.
As a sync user, I agree, $20 is a steep price for what lemmy is currently offering. If I’m sure I’m gonna staying on lemmy for years (like I did for reddit), im probably gonna pay. But only time will tell. But so far the als I’ve seen are really not that frequent or intrusive, and I’m just happy I have sync back tbh.
If it had been obvious to me, then I wouldn’t have asked the question. Also, this wouldn’t be the first time this happened. Sync Pro used to be a separate app too, but when it was integrated into one app, the purchase could be transferred.
I personally trust humanity that we will work out a way to have sex with something we shouldn’t rather quickly. Our horniest scientiest and our brightest perverts will find a way, even if it’s at great personal cost.
