I started caring about privacy at the tail end of high school. I started running LineageOS with microG then. Now that I’m in college, I’ve quit most mainstream social media, and I run GrapheneOS.

Boy English is pretty tame. My native language has gendered pronouns for what feels like every type of relative you can have. I don’t see my extended family very often so truthfully I don’t even know half of those pronouns. Sometimes a relative pops up out of nowhere and I get all confused about pronouns again. Seriously, like last year at a family gathering my aunt (maybe? idk, she’s my grandmother’s niece) brought someone and was like “heyyyy yall are related come say hiii” and she was like brand new information to everyone there lol.

Because Lemmy users are also humans and humans are assholes.

I think it usually just involves look around the comment sections. People are like “I’m on this instance, it’s good blah blah blah.”

In my case though I chose lemdro.id because it’s an instance that centers around a topic I’m interested in.

You know, on the one hand, I really want to support the Fediverse. But on the other hand, too much social media is bad. So it’s kind of a delicate balancing act.

Use small instances. I’ve never had trouble on lemdro.id.

Infinity is the best Reddit client I’ve ever tried, and I will say the same for the Lemmy fork. I have deleted everything else but Sync and Infinity.

I set up a Fedora Asahi dualboot today. Really liking it so far. When this has support for speakers and microphone I’m fully ditching macOS.

I have never used stock Xiaomi software for more than the time it took to unlock the bootloader. The custom ROMs for my devices were jank as fuck too. I will never buy from Xiaomi again. Only Pixel and GrapheneOS from now on.

Infinity was my go-to Reddit client. I love it so much.

I’m also a huge believer in open source. I’m using Infinity for Lemmy right now but I gladly paid for the ad removal in Sync. It genuinely is the best Lemmy app out right now. It just works and has so many customization options. Not to mention, since Sync uses Google for ads, when you remove the ads, the ad component isnt initialized so you remove the tracking. So nothing to worry about there either. 20$ lifetime for such an awesome app is totally fair for me. That’s my opinion, you are free to disagree.
