Linux has a huge market share in servers. Most phones use a derivative of Linux. A lot of embedded systems run Linux. The desktop PC is basically the only niche where Linux doesn’t dominate.

With Synaptic, you can show all files associated with a package. That includes config files. Saved me a lot of hassle on numerous occasions.

You could look at the package that’s mentioned in the first line in Synaptic. The error message says it can’t find a file. Fürst thing is do is check if that fike is actually there.
