  • Been playing through the adventure mode of MTG Forge

It’s a good time, but I dislike the layout of the world and how quests work. It’d feel so much better if the locations weren’t randomly splodged around the map and instead followed some structure

Similarly, quests are really jank. You’re punished for not taking them, but also punished for abandoning them. Early game they’re either insanely hard or require a huge amount of luck, late game it just feels like a list of random chores

Also it’s annoying to go to a town, rifle through all the shops for a few minutes, before heading on over to the next town. They should cut down the amount of shops per town (right now it’s 10+, each with 6 items to choose from), and just make it a menu to go between them, as the second it takes to load is quite jarring and the travel time when in the town is redundant

But I’m just being picky. Right now it’s a fun game if you’re already into mtg, but with those changes it’d be an amazing game in its own right

I get where they’re coming from

I went to a space cadet camp at the Kennedy Space Centre. Considering I’m not American, Florida was a bit of a change for me

It was really odd how much they glossed over how they managed to do things, and instead focused on what they did instead

One good example of this was when the USA made these new engines for a rocket, and they tried to really underline how much of a scientific breakthrough they were, all while never actually saying what they did differently. Similarly, every time they brought up Russia it was always about how they were a step behind, slapping on a bunch of rockets to compensate for the fact that they had worse machinery

Of course, they never brought up how Russia was basically in front for the entire race until the US moved the goalposts, as shown in this meme

So yeah that’s my experience on how this is taught in America

  • I used to be like you. Way back when, I would love to cheat currency into single player games with a little help from cheat engine. The biggest culprits were BTD5 and PvZ1/2, and it’d give me a kick just being able to go through and buy everything before using it all while feeling unstoppable

Since then, I’ve gone back and replayed the games without cheating, and I honestly regret using cheat engine. It felt way more rewarding getting everything at a more sustainable rate, like I really earned the item

You also talk about feeling like you earn the ability to cheat, but, looking back on my own experience, I can safely say that I was terrible at gauging whether or not I should use a hack. Turns out, when you have a shiny item in a shop that you could come back in a few hours for or get instantly now for free, more often than not we’ll choose the latter

  • I’m assuming there’d be no online multiplayer or modding, as they’d be outside the realm of the game - it’s content made by other people (and it’s more interesting if you exclude them anyway), and I’m assuming there’d be no more updates (so only current or previous patches)

So we’d be looking for replayable single player games

    1. Minecraft. If that’s not on your list then you’re joking
    2. Terraria. Sandbox like minecraft, but the more legacy-focused scope of the game would be a nice change
    3. Factorio. This game is called cracktorio for a reason
    4. Monster Hunter world. Very replayable when you want to hit big monsters with big swords
    5. Maimai. Bet you didn’t expect a rhythm game to be here, bitch! With all other video games gone, maimai would explode in popularity, and I’d finally be able to play maimai locally instead of only in the city on the occasional day off. Yes, this list is just a place holder for the real number 1
