Ex-presidentā€™s allies and Project 2025 propose restrictions to EPAā€™s ability to protect public from toxins like PFAS

A second Donald Trump presidency would represent a serious threat to dealing with the toxic impact ofĀ PFAS ā€œforever chemicalsā€, as well as other toxins, and could be a danger to the health of millions of Americans, experts and environmental campaigners warn.

For example, over the last year, the Environmental Protection Agency developedĀ groundbreaking drinking water limitsĀ for highly toxic PFAS compounds, and designated several of the ā€œforever chemicalsā€ as hazardous substances, a move that will force industry to clean up its pollution. The steps represent a major win for the water quality and taxpayers, but a new Trump administration would likely shred the rules.

Statements from former Trump EPA officials, theĀ far-right Project 2025 plan, and the Trump-allied American Chemistry Council (ACC) target those rules, but also suggest industry and a second administrationā€™s aims are much deeper. They are proposing administrative changes designed to cripple the EPAā€™s ability to protect public health from chemicals like PFAS.

Trump is a toxic, forever chemical.

But, seriously, Itā€™s like every stance they take has to be the most contrarian, harmful-to-society thing they can think of.

Whatā€™s next? Ripping out all the new water pipes and putting the old, lead ones back in?

Itā€™s all pro-business, heā€™s doing this so some companies can make a quick buck while poisoning us all down the line.

This is the party of ā€œgovernment so small you could drown it in a bathtubā€, itā€™s just a bit more openly two-faced now. If itā€™s not useful in directly wielding power, or if itā€™s costing rich people money, itā€™s gotta go. If it can be used to benefit those in power, itā€™s getting hardened.

you could pretty much just make a list of literally everything good and everything bad and say that, under trump, everything in the first column will go away and everything in the second column will exponentially increase
