I’m still not fully convinced this is a good idea. To start with I really have doubts about the amyloid hypothesis still, like most I think. They did nothing to show the marginal benefit they’re claiming was clinically meaningful. That’s something they easily could have done and worked into their studies but chose not to, guessing they don’t want to know the answer to that question. I doubt that this slight benefit they’re claiming outweighs all the risks of this drug. Not to mention the massive quality of life hit from the regular infusions, regular monitoring, and scans. Also the huge expenses and how they’ll weigh on both patients/families and the healthcare system as a whole, not just the drug itself but also all the mris, pets, neurology visits, infusion center visits, and all the monitoring and hospital/Ed visits for ARIA and hemorrhaging when it occurs. I want a treatment for alzheimers as much as anyone but this seems like a cash grab, not true hope.
