I think my mom is getting me Samsung Buds for Christmas, I have no ability to change this in anyway, however I am also not sure of this.

I am wondering if any of you have any experience with them, and if you would mind sharing what they are like with me?

It would help if you describe what exactly you are concerned about.

I have the Galaxy Buds 2 and I used to have the original Galaxy buds. They’re decent earbuds. I live in a big, noisy city so I appreciate the noise-canceling feature

No specific concerns, I like what you shared, I am looking for some general takes. I appreciate what you know about the noise cancelling.

I have found (with my galaxy buds 2 pros) that the silicone ear tips are uncomfortable when worn for long periods. They did sell foam tipped ones which I would recommend if you have the same problem as me.

Also, I ran over one of the galaxy buds live (beans) in a gravel parking lot and even though it was scratched up it survived and they still work.

What it sounds like is they may survive my clumsy ass lol

Edit: I will look into the different tips I always have trouble keeping them in place, so I am sure I will need something

Not with Samsung’s ones, but I loved both my Jabra and JBL. I’m guessing same stuff different brand. The JBL ones sometimes slide out a bit, but that can probably be fixed with different tips.

If you have a Samsung phone you might get some extra features, I have one but can’t say I’m missing anything.

I had a pair of Jabra elite, and they got destroyed, so I have been without, I was guessing they would be similar, but change can be hard so I was looking for some ideas on what to expect, but now that you mention it you never know what she has found and called it Samsung, so knowing about the others is not such a bad idea.

If she is at that level, I wish you the best of luck. But from my experience there is not much difference between this level of earbuds, biggest being fit so I hope yours fit you well.

This is unless your in audiophile levels of audio, but then I do think you need to ask other audiophiles for help.

The noise cancelling and long term comfort are great. I wear them 8 hours a day in the office. The battery life lasts a while and sound is decent. I’d buy them again if they broke.

You’re probably not sure what specific model you are getting but I will chime in with this. I’ve had both the Buds Pro and now the Buds Pro 2 and have used and abused them to hell and back and they work great, pair seamlessly, and most importantly sound great. They even have the ability to adjust side to side volume balance if you’re hard or hearing in one ear.

That is great, I often worry that these names are just that only a name. Glad to hear there may be some real engineering here.

I have the first series and they worked good for 3 years, after that the battery doesn’t last much. After 4 years I can’t get 2 hours or is them. Which is probably normal for headphones… Otherwise they are at least ok.

    I have two models:

    • Galaxy Buds Plus (2020) - no ANC, but good isolation; good for biking, no wind noise; ~ 8 h battery life; sound is good
    • Galaxy Buds 2 Pro (2023) - very good ANC inside and outside; fatal flaw: wind noise, so no bueno for biking or running; ~ 6 h battery life; sound is very good
