As a remotely operated robot maps out the debris field from the fatal Titan submersible implosion, investigators will be reviewing voice recordings from the mother ship that carried the vessel and its five occupants on its journey to the site of the Titanic wreckage, officials said.
It’s very telling that their protocol was messages every 15 minutes, but they were so used to losing contact with the Titan that nobody bothered to report the sub missing for several hours. The voice recordings could prove problematic for them.
“several hours” being the entire expected length of the expedition.
Because previous dives, the sub had lost communication for long periods of time.
This whole thing was a “how not to submarine”.
