Don’t they have a Democratic governor and an unjerrymandered state house and senate? What the fuck. If the Democrats are supporting these masturbatorbases no wonder why they are fucking losing on every score. How about we not be the party of weakness and acquiescence to what the Republicans want to do with a few caveats.

When is the last time we had a Democrat lay out a reform agenda on their own that they crafted? That they did not commission a focus group to study if it would be popular? A real leader knows what could be popular and will make it popular. These Democrats are not that and incapable of meeting the moments here.

Democratic Governor, yes, but she’s very hit or miss with regards to this stuff. Definitely not a well liked politician anymore after a few of these “across the aisle” actions that fucked over the base.

As for Un-Gerrymandered… NOooooooooo. We’re pretty bad here, just check out the last republican redistricting, we lost seats despite growing more democratic.

The democrats are way too busy virtue signalling than actually, y’know, defending democracy.

Unfortunately the way voters are spread out the Republicans have sort of a natural gerrymander. The cities tend to be grouped together in Big Blocks of democratic voters and the countryside is very spread out Republican.

I know Arizona passed a law taking away the drawing of legislative districts from lawmakers and giving it to an independent commission, here in Michigan we did the same thing later on in 2018. From when they gerrymandered it after 2010 until that time it was solidly Republican House and Senate.

Eh, man, that Independent commission is suspect as hell.

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arizona's_congressional_districts

So, I used to be in CD2 now I’m in CD6. Used to be fairly democratic leaning in CD2, but CD6 expanded to include the conservative portions of the Foothils and Oro Valley and even goddamn Casa Grande! Hell, they even cut out Douglass and Naco, the border towns, to make it consistently conservative. CD2’s (circa 2020) borders made sense! CD6’s does not.

Don’t even get me started on Paul fucking Gosar in CD9 and negating parts of Phoenix with Rural votes over 300 miles away.

So, I dunno how in the hell the comission is “independent” because these lines are convoluted as hell.
