Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•"If I can't win an argument, I must change my mind." Do you agree with this view?
5·6 days agoThat’s kind of stupid stance to have.
I mean I can get into a argument of ideas with a MAGA idiot about how you shouldn’t support the current Epstien File POTUS and present all kinds of evidence about how the current president is an idiot, that he has ballooned the deficit more than any modern president for no rhyme or reason, that his immigration policy and tariff policy are complete and utter failures that extremely hurt the American economy and families and the MAGA idiot would steadfastly refuse to acknowledge facts, crap all over the table and declare victory.
I certainly didn’t win the argument and I certainly shouldn’t be supporting the “I can identify a Squirrel” in Chief because I couldn’t convince a cult member they’re a moronic cult member.

2·7 days agoYou know who else didn’t care about life being not affordable? Most of the 76% of Americans who bitch about no one caring that life was not affordable and voted Republican.
Thanks guys!

This is their last chance to hold on to their racist ways as America’s population is going through it’s transition from a white majority to a white minority society.
While it remains to be seen how this plays out, if it swings the other way, they better pray to their supply side Jesus minorities are going to not inflict unto them what they did to us.

News@lemmy.world•Supreme court’s Voting Rights Act ruling cited misleading data from DoJ
8·11 days agoThis is the court that cited a 17th century bullshit about quickening like they were sucking Medieval Highlander dick for justification on Dobbs, and then in the same breath refused to also acknowledge that terminating pregnancy before Highlander There Can Be Only One, was common and accepted practice.
These Conservative political activist judges don’t care about being consistent or data while they’re passing their conservative agenda from the bench.

News@lemmy.world•More Americans say US is no longer welcoming to immigrants, survey finds
1·13 days agoAs a 40+ year old first generation American I can say my personal experience is that by and large it has not been exactly welcoming to immigrants for decades.
I once believed that it was getting better but Americans then let me know that once again I was and still not exactly welcome.

politics @lemmy.world•Trump’s disapproval rating hits record high, new poll shows
8·14 days agoNone of this matters because at the end of the day the American electorate is just too stupid for any of this to count for anything.
They’re always going to vote for the next hard R that will promise them that they’ll make it all White and now you’ll probably won’t have a choice but to vote for the hard R in many states going forward.

24·19 days agoSo Roblox is already complete shit exploitation machine but adding in this crutch as you put it to kids that are in the one of the most influential part of their development and making this the norm and to not develop any skills, to accept slop as art and not developing their own style and stunting their ability before it gets a chance to develop.
To use your own analogy, I see it as giving a perfectly able kid a crutch and teaching them that’s how to properly walk. You get fucked up adults that can never run.

Games@lemmy.world•Thick As Thieves Will Cost $4.99, Early Access Includes 4 Hour Long CampaignEnglish
7·20 days agoI guess I would call this the Telltale model where you have episodic releases. My only concern would be the overall price a person for what would be considered the full game in the bastardization of the Paradox DLC model where the “complete” game is hundreds of dollars.
Still it would be a interesting early access experiment.

politics @lemmy.world•Jeffries says Trump impeachment not a top priority if Dems win House majority
6·21 days agoIt’s like you could actually do both.
Also even though the chance of having the Senate follow through is basically nil, I still believe having public impeachment hearings where these assholes actually press the matter, bring the facts and be as explicit and dramatic with the facts as possible with the American public, because let’s face it Americans are too dumb to be all about the facts, about the unconstitutional things he’s done and how he AND the Republican party + Fetterman are responsible for the spike in every things for the American people. You don’t have to remove Trump in order for an impeachment to be successful.
But then again with these spinless dicks that call themselves Democrats, maybe it is better that they don’t have impeachment hearings because they would softball everything just like last times and get no point across.

Games@lemmy.world•PlayStation has seemingly added a 30-day DRM check to all newly purchased digital PS4 and PS5 gamesEnglish
7·21 days agoFor digital purchases? I don’t remember having that on my ps3 and 4 days for games that was purchased but then again it’s been literally a decade since I’ve used one.
The free PS+ games sure, you had to have a connection but for games you outright bought, as long as it was on installed your machine it was playable with or without a internet connection. That’s what I remember at least but then again, it’s been a very long time since I’ve used any console.

Not really. Their plan for a while now is to convert all to subscriptions and this is just their latest salvo. Next up is getting rid of it completely due to “no demand” and then kicking existing lifetime accounts to some static version that won’t be supported.
