At this point I’m wondering if they’ll teach it at all, or just act like the Reagan Years and pretend it’s just “peaches and cream” and a time when “Men were men”

I don’t quite see myself as pessimistic, but I would say pre-war period. The far-right Pandora’s box has been opened, and the angst towards the mismanagement of globalisation is bubbling up and people are looking to vent.
