In an unfortunate way, Caitlyn Jenner is great proof of equality. Everyone, from any background, gender, or orientation, has the capacity to be garbage.
She’s also a stellar example of inequality and the mechanics behind it, imo. Being a trans woman has not made her a champion of queer rights. Belonging to a marginalized group doesn’t automatically make you a good person or even a non-oppressive person.

If you needed a trans person to come tell you this is not okay: hi! Here I am! Don’t do this. All it does is advertise that you view using someone’s correct name as a privilege that can be revoked for bad behavior.
It’s never okay to dead name. Even people you find despicable. Dead naming isn’t about them, it’s about you… like being polite to wait staff.
All you’re doing is telling other trans people that their gender recognition is conditionally valid only on their good behavior, and that it can be revoked if they piss you off. Maybe consider why this would make trans people feel unsafe with you, even if they are on your side politically.
