It’s almost like your laws had a very good reason for a very long time to disallow the president the power to unilaterally impose tariffs.
Hell, to unilaterally do MOST things.
Greg Pearre is the only US federal worker with a spine, sounds like.

Cool. Enjoy whatever comes your way.
And to be real? Martin Luther King Jr’s accomplishments are nearly wiped out a generation or two later by minimal effort from a handful of rich white assholes. It’s almost like doing a march isn’t sufficient to exterminate fascists.
Sounds like a solid candidate to toss some molotov cocktails at very least. Let them try to make an example of a 93 year old medical legend.
I dunno- at that age, seeing 93 years of history, I sure wouldn’t like to go out with the knowledge that the Russians won the Cold War on my watch.
Well, great. How scared are you?
Scared enough to throw a punch? Break something? Get arrested?
Thought not. Do something or shut up. Op-eds are about 10 years too late.
But also, don’t you dare call out the inaction of cowardly white American liberals on Lemmy- they’ll demand to know WHAT YOU HAVE DONE to fix their problems and when that doesn’t work they’ll insinuate it’s not your place to have an opinion since you don’t live there.
Meanwhile they whine about how they couldn’t possibly take any action because they MIGHT GET IN TROUBLE! Best they can do is a cute little easily-ignored march on a Saturday if the weather’s nice and they’ve gotten the proper permits.
They’re nearly as bad as MAGA trash.
A parliamentary system is superior in just about every way.
Only a THIRD?
Rookie numbers. They can do better.
That’s wild, usually he can be counted on to write something about how Thomas Jefferson actually wanted everyone to get in fatal plane crashes every day.
Curtis Yarvin, the Neil Breen of political “philosophers,” wrote that ignoring the courts is part of the plan- here’s his test case.
Americans: “we can’t. We might GET IN TROUBLE.”

I can think of plenty of things that aren’t violence in the streets.
Destruction of property can be achieved without putting human lives at risk given that the actors are halfway intelligent. Large scale cyberattacks can be carried out without physical violence. Organized efforts to catfish and publicly expose pedophiles (because let’s be real, the vast majority of them are alt-right trash) and hey, while you’re at it, even if they aren’t into kids, get receipts on unfaithful MAGA spouses and expose them to their families and religious groups. Industrial or corporate sabotage is an option. Business owners could choose to deny service to known alt-right sympathizers, MAGA supporters could see their employment terminated (political affiliation is not a protected class in most places, as far as I know).
When your entire law enforcement apparatus prioritizes property above people, all of those things become absolutely legitimate forms of protest. If these tactics are currently unacceptable to you, please tell us where the “line” is, beyond which they become morally justified. If your position is they these things are NEVER acceptable, then I don’t really have anything to say to you apart from “good luck.”
We’ve been told our entire lives that all the educated, intelligent people are on the left and the right is full of knuckle-draggers- well, great. Prove it. Stop being outsmarted by idiots.
Because you’ve spent 40 years allowing your news media to be complicit.
Reps need to be taking part in the protests. Preferably Korean-style.
I thought facts didn’t care about their feelings.
How about helping the people who are genuinely being excluded?
