They do realise that there were political ads during the suffragette movement, right?

You would have to define how you’re using “have to” here. I mean, I wouldn’t try to come and attack you for neither agreeing not disagreeing with a subject you still managed to have such strong a need to inject in.
Partly because you might be bigger than me but mostly because I generally only see doing that as soemthing I strongly frown upon, in even the most severe of cases. I’m not particularly keen on forcing people to do anything, in fact.
Really, though only you can answer that question.
I’m glad we agree that our lives are probably better now than they for the people who literally had to live in caves, thousands of years ago, though. Thank you for including that important point.
Work has never been so unstressful, if you look back at the history of mankind.
I agree that it was even worse before. Although, I’m a little puzzled as to what point is being made. Are you agreeing with me or not? I can’t tell.
Industrialization killed workers with 60 hour shifts in unsafe environments. Middle ages made you work 18 hours a day once you were 7 and made you starve if the harvest was bad. In the stone age your family died from hunger after you got killed on the hunt.
Life expectancy was never as high as today.
Looking back at what I wrote, what point is all this agreeing with or refuting?
To me, it seems like you’re arguing that the passage of time is a good thing. I don’t remember saying that the passage of time wasn’t good.
Honey covered iron fists
Lol, Republicans tried this before under bush, right about the time his brother was running for reelection in florida. Bush whacked huge tariffs on a number of things coming into the US from the EU
The EU “florida hey? Nice oranges you guys have out there. Wouldn’t it be a shame if someone was to, oh I dunno, put astronomical tarrifs on those delicious oranges, right in the run up to the florida governor election?”
It cut to the heart of the cronyism in the US political system. Not that anyone else has less or more. We all have it to one extent or another. Its just, imagine if it was your country’s exact flavour of it laid bare and made public like that.
The Republicans were very embarrassed have hated the EU ever since.
Who knows, maybe this time it’ll work.
Its work
Working, in the way that we do, takes years off of our lives and ruins the quality of life of people in their final years too.
I mean, its a meme and the message is put across very well but, for me, an important distinction for the comments section is that wealth increases life, as much as, if not more than poverty decreases it. Its wealth specifically and not wages too. After a certain point, increased wages actually have an inverse effect on lifespan which I’m sure comes as no surprise to anyone and the reason is both self explanatory and further supports what I’m saying.
Just so its been said, wealth, in these instances, refers to capital that makes you money. More specifically, wealth gives you money from NOT from working.
The exact point at which life expectancy and QoL increases is always around the exact level of wealth and passive income someone would need to drastically lower their working hours or stop completely.
A second argument: women live longer than men. There are some biological factors for this, such as oestrogen being a vasodilator etc. However, it wasn’t really enough to explain the differences we were seeing.
The thing is, this unexplained gap has started getting smaller and smaller. Now, unless there’s been a fundamental change in the average womans physiology recently, only one thing has changed in our society to the extent that it could effect something like this. Its also filtering through at around the exact time it should be, were the trend to be caused work.
Nothing else reconciles all of the positions, let alone so perfectly and in one single stroke.
Edit: so many typos
For sure, it has to be real but I would say that believing you’ll spend eternity being tortured would make any apology very sincere.
I didn’t know that, thank you.
Imo, when it comes down to it, a lot of them won’t give a care what colour their wage slaves are, in much the same way that most of them aren’t really Christian or are secretly gay etc.
Imagine having to come out as a non-rascist to your conservative parents
Fuck that
1 John 1:9 ,
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Therefore, they will be righteous and included with the sheep and never asked goat (people on the right hand side) questions.
Like I said, its all about the fine print. Righteousness isn’t the ticket.
What if they disguised their sociopathic greed as ideology?
You mean the ones whos mega-rich owners are being promised massive tax cuts by trump? Those very same ones?
I’m shocked to my core. I’m glad I was sitting down when I read your comment.
Oh, the laffer curve is just fine. The issue is, the people who choose to missuse it deliberately or through utter ignorance never mention that the X value is about 90%. As I always say to those types whenever they bring it up:
“Theh all want to talk about the laffer curve, right up until you have to explain to them how hight the X value is. Then, as if by magic, they suddenly don’t want to talk about it anymore and never agreed with it in the first place.”
The real problem with economics, imo, is that they always presume inequality to not exist, in order to make the calculations work. The reason being that, if you accept that inequality exists and add it to the pot, as it were, the answer always comes out as “the problem is inequality.”
However, that doesn’t justify tax breaks for the rich or their rampant greed and exploitation. So, we pretend its non-existent and, tbf, in a wold with no inequality what so ever, where only the best rise to the top and anyone could be rich, if they worked for it and it wasn’t a closed shop, most of neoliberalism would be absolute genius.
Of course, the problem is that, in the real world, inequality not only exists but is the definining feature of our economy.
You’ll have to let me know what part of the bible says that because its not in any parts that I read.
While baptism itself is in the bible, baptism absolving sin is something made up centuries later, so that churches could have some of that old school shaman ritual stuff they didnt have any of.
More so, the only opposing view to the one above would be the Catholic one and their interpretation is problematic at best.
People really need to check the fine-print on that particular covenant.
As long as he said sorry to God before he died and meant it, in Christianity, he’s in heaven.
Same goes for Hitler, if he meant it.
If you have a problem with that, no matter how perfect a person you might be, you’ll be in hell instead because, ultimately, it doesn’t matter how bad of a person you are or what sins you’ve committed.
Only one thing matters.
If heaven exists, it’ll be full of people like Reagan. You’ll be spending eternity with right wing Christian Conservatives and much, much worse.
Meanwhile hell will have all the drinkers, the stoners, the ravers, revelers and rascals; it’ll have all the gay people, the hippies and every alternative culture you can think of. Hell will have all the promiscuous people, the people who just love sex and the professionals too. We’ll have all the people who know how to make drugs, the fun ones, and we’ll have none of those judgmental life-haters around, either as they’ll all be in heaven.
Were gonna have a wicked time. Reagan won’t be welcome, no matter who’s arsehole he’s got his tongue up.
Sorry, I just ran with it. Its not really at you.
I agree in making them obsolete but I think the above is “just” great life advice and not necessarily something that will stop capitalism. Just to be clear, I love it.
Capitalism can absorb anything you throw at it. Shoot anti capitalism at it and it will just sell you rage against the machine albums and anonymous masks. Theres no reason to suspect the above won’t just result in the further comodification of care and affection.
So, what do you feed an insatiable monster who can absorb anything you throw at it and grow stronger from it?
As little as possible.
What does capitalism actually feed on
Human labour.
The answer always has been and always will be the strategic refusal of labour, over and above what we need to live a reasonable life.
Not because they disagreed with him morally or anything of course. They just thought that they could do a better job.
Tbf, British high command agreed that the potential replacements, which included his best generals, would have been better at leading the nazis. They also realised hitler would kill them all when he found out.
Still, shame they found out though hey?
“- we are golden, like the shower”
Fixed that for them.
You already know what you call a fly with no wings

Its a massively growing problem in many European countries. The UK is having the same issues but some of the strictest laws on drugs in Europe.
At least you get some tax money back from it, unlike us.
Next they’ll be wanting jobs, to own property and to wear trousers too!
