Pothos or snake plant. Pothos are easy to make thrive and grow which is rewarding. Snake plant thrives if you rarely water it but it grows slowly.
Both can be found for easonable prices and people are always happy to give others a pothos cutting.
This makes more sense imo, thanks for sharing your experience (and your Lemmy development :))
Community guidelines in a readme would be a good start. Also, educating those opening new git issues since I often see entitled and vitriolic demands from non-devs who do not understand what FOSS is (although I understand that this isn’t the only bully archetype).
One of the takeaways Imo is to consider bullies as potential security threats especially when they’re pushing to merge code. And for both developers and non-developers alike, to try to foster a culture of respect and avoid entitlement in git issues. Call it out when you see it and don’t dogpile.
Absolutely. In my experience I’ve felt more pressure to merge in closed source than open source since the bully is those above you in a hierarchy with business interests who are also paying your bills.
I fail to see the comparison at all.
I agree with genie’s comment; at the end of the day they’re breakable.
I never would have expected to recommend these before purchasing but the Cascade Mountain Tech flick lock carbon poles with cork handles have lasted me for years. I’ve put 3000km+ on them between a thru hike, ultramarathons, etc, and have yet to break them. They’re also light and work well for pole-supported shelters due to adjustable height. Non-amazon link:
That being said, I have a friend who has snapped one by accidentally levering it between two boulders. Keep the baskets on to avoid this. So it really depends on how reckless you are with them. They do sell replacement parts including pole sections for a fair price.
If you have the cash, Leki poles are very high quality and I would highly recommend them.

Edit: oopsies, I meant to comment under the top-level comment.
I would argue it’s because of historical usage, familiarity, and resistance to change. Most countries and most people living in hot climates use Celsius.
This thread is peak Lemmy and I’m here for it.

I could see people generating papers to support any quack argument on Facebook being a problem.
Fortunately, we have peer reviews and reputable scientific journals as a filter for this. However, with low scientific literacy, many may not know the difference.
Do you have a link? I can’t seem to find it.
My goodness the variety… And they all look so happy!
Ooo, fancy. How long have you had this fella for?
Small solar panel and incandescent bulb for heat?
Retitled since I have an aversion to listicles, yet I found this blog post to have some interesting info with a fun writing style. Enjoy!
I can’t wait until more YouTube creators move to Peertube + donation platforms like Liberapay!
