Oh yeah. The videos are horrific imo
No you’re just super stuck on this really bad analogy.
Sync is a prostitute in the same way a hair dresser is. Your mom can slap a bowl on your head and cut your hair for free.
No, there’s a free version. With about 1/100, the ads the official Reddit app has.
I wouldn’t demand a haircut for free, or commission a painting for free, or ask someone to a fancy restaurant, then demand we go Dutch.
Sync has a developer who I chose to compensate for their work. I would’ve done the same for connect. I would like people to get compensated for the work they do. It’s great to get something for free, but I am not entitled to their free labor.
But somethings are worth paying for.

Instead of supporting a Dev who’s proved themselves, we should harbor deep skepticism and try to skate by on a free product for as long as possible because that $5 is really, really, super, duper gonna break the bank if the app isn’t absolutely everything I want it to be.
I do have this problem with the monitor I hook up to my laptop for gaming occasionally. It’s looser because it gets plugged and unplugged more commonly and can occasionally slip out of I move my laptop to my lap so I can lean back when my back starts to ache.
But this is not a common situation I think
