I’ve worked mostly as a data scientist / analyst but regex was being user to identify various things in the SQL database (which was viewed locally via R table). I forget the exact is cases, mostly remembering how complex some of it got… Especially after certain people were using GPT to build them.

And GPT like to make up extra bits not necessary, but my coworkers didn’t exactly have the knowledge to read regex, which lead to nobody really checking it. Now it just gives me anxiety, haha.

It’s worse; states like California have their voting shit together on this and will likely be at least 70% for Harris but it won’t matter because the electrical college makes it up to 7 or so states to decide the most important election on the planet. She’ll get the popular vote almost guaranteed. It’s agonizing.

I had a thought about this; fascism exists because there are evil but effective ways of swaying people. By scapegoating immigrants and providing propaganda, he’s doing exactly what other fascists have done (including Hitler) to great success.

Two notes from my actual coursework in education and psych; first, baby talk exists for a reason but it’s the singasong voice that matters most, especially when they’re picking up sounds. The funny thing there is you can say absolutely terrible things in a singasong voice and they will love it and remember it better.

Second, the arse in the example isn’t actually all the way wrong, using vocabulary is important especially in that second and third year. I forget the author but there’s some studies that show preschool vocabulary is directly related to parental education and they found it’s because of the vocab the parents use. We’re taking tens of thousands more words learned. Too bad I can’t remember the author, just that it was four letters (and since leaving academia, my zotero is long gone).

About 640k votes, 46.5% to 52.1%. It’s a tough hurdle, as he won that same percentage in 2016, although Clinton only had 43.5% and a third party probably ate some of Trump’s votes.

He’ll likely win, but by less. Its a pretty big margin, even if Trump openly pisses on military graves while Harris is a proud owner of a glock.
