I use Total Launcher, and it has this (and in fact you can swipe in 4 directions ⬆️⬇️⬅️➡️ rather than just the 2 that Nova offers).
Means that from my home screen I could, in theory, access 48 different apps/actions/shortcuts, as well as opening the 12 folders they represent. I use about 40 of them, but it’s good to have space for more if I want it.
Just a heads up that for some reason your title text is showing HUGE on my Lemmy app - possibly that’s intentional, but hopefully not. Assuming not, you probably need to delete the hash/pound symbol at the start.
Might just be me, of course :-)
Wtf? That sounds dodgy as hell.
What does that code mean/do?
You can only swipe down to minimize a video if it’s the first video in a playlist (or not part of a playlist at all).
That seems really daft. Things like swipe gestures work on muscle memory - but if you have yo also consciously remember whether what you’re watching is in a playlist or not, it’s much less intuitive.
I like swipe down to minimise and use it a lot. This feels like it could be a real pain.
And if they can, will they?
Can the mind vomit?
Yep, and thanks, I should have done that myself. Although setting that up as the default search takes a little more detail.
Not sure if this will help for that specific search but I recently discovered a change that you can make to your browser’s search defaults that makes Google search a lot better (for me at least), stripping away all the AI stuff.

Funny, my first thought was that this would be much easier to answer by accident! Since it only requires a tap and not a swipe, it seems to me like a pocket answer or rejection would be a lot more likely to happen without the phone owner even knowing.
My dad used to use something called Swarfega when he’d been working on anything oily, it was amazing stuff.
Which view is that? I can see spaces with some views and vote counts with others.
Small Cards - no vote count Cards - no vote count Slides - vote count is there
Normally I use Smaller Cards, so I don’t see a vote count anytime until I open a post.
Oh yeah, I agree with all that!
Yeah, there was that brief period, maybe 4-6 years where each release had at least something exciting. I guess they’ve just run out of genuinely useful/innovative stuff to add.
Seconding Hermit, it’s a really useful tool for websites you visit often enough to wish they had an app.
I mostly use it for a football ⚽ forum I’m on, and it’s a better experience than opening my browser and going to the site each time, as there are some degrees of customisation of the experience.
That’s odd, I can use that gesture from any app. Wonder if it’s phone-specific.
