I think this is much sadder than just the parents thinking like this. Kids should get to be kids and start their lives unencumbered by their parents’ hatred and bitterness.
People do “cognitive tests” for all kinds of reasons. The kind for dementia is only one of a large variety of tests that fit in this very broad category.

I think there’s still a difference between describing a concept in a way laypeople would understand and describing it using plain English. The latter is what I consider good scientific writing.

The movie’s creator recently gave an interview on the The New Yorker Radio Hour, where he cited as one of the difficulties the film faced with financial backers and distributors that it included a scene of Trump raping Ivana Trump (a claim she later recanted under pressure from Trump’s lawyers).

To my knowledge, the problem is the same in the EU, but there are legal initiatives by some NGOs (NOYB) that argue that having only these two options (pay for subscription or consent to personal information being sold) should be illegal, and that newspapers should be required to offer a third option (pay only the amount your information would be sold for, which is only a few cents, without the subscription).

The crazy thing is: If he hadn’t admitted this, there wouldn’t have been calls for his resignation. The Republican party is fine with spreading harmful misinformation, but admitting to it is a no-go.
