In the UK we have a chocolate bar called the Star Bar - it’s a LOT like a Boost - and it kinda has the same shape. I honestly thought it was a typo at first and I was like, “the fuck have Cadbury’s changed now?”.

17·29 days agoThe Vengabus is coming, the Vengabus is coming, The Vengabus is coming, the Vengabus is coming, The Vengabus is coming, the Vengabus is coming, The Vengabus is coming, the Vengabus is coming, The Vengabus is coming, the Vengabus is coming
I’ve been waiting for the next Vengabus since 1998. Our public transport infrastructure is a fucking joke.

I can’t believe that no-one has posted this incredibly useful and relevant video yet:
I still say “wash in cool or cold water” occasionally.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How much is your monthly average mobile/phone data usage?English
3·2 months agoIt varies, but so far this month (day 11) I’m at 80GB and 300GB a month isn’t unusual. At home and work I typically get 500+ Mbps download so I don’t tend to bother with WiFi. I’m currently paying £12/mo for a SIM-only service.

5·2 months agoYear of Hell is one. The episode where they discover that the entire ship and crew are replicas and they’re slowly coming apart is another.
But you’re still coming in to work, right?
Ten years? Up until recently I had a Core2Duo with 1GB RAM running Qobus in as a jukebox in the bedroom. But now he’s gone, off to a better place, where he can finally rest. By which I mean I upgraded to 4GB and installed at a relative’s house running Home Assistant.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you make a grocery list, or do you just go to the store and wing it?English
5·2 months agoDepending on the store TGTT bags can be amazing or… not so much. One store near me will always include fresh fruit, veg, meats, rolls, cans… another will just hand over a bag with like ten kilos of sliced ham in it.
TGTT with a freezer is a game-changer, though.
Yeah, that’s not a straw, though. It’s like a redwood. A forest of redwoods.

7·2 months agoAnother song by The Killers has the line “I’ve got soul but I’m not a soldier” repeated over and over again with increasing intensity. It’s hard to imagine a less meaningful lyric without actually resorting to nonsensicalness.

I could get down to two pairs of headphones and one pair of earphones.

Yesterday I introduced someone to Gunshow by way of the Anime Club. We were talking about creepy-ass animes about princesses so of course I mentioned Princess Robot Bubblegum and Smegma Princess. I’m part-way through a full re-read. I also need to reread Gun and HIAGB.
