I’m a fan of capitalism, but not the kind of capitalism that decrees something is too big to fail and must be bailed out.
Very very aware.
So you had another mail server elsewhere that port forwarded port 25 via port 22 to your internal mail server’s port 25.
I take it that outside mail server was secure.
That’s an impressive setup.
Did you really only use it when you were home? If you used it outside the firewall then port 25 must have been open also.
I used to run my own server and this was in the early 90s. Then one day, perusing the logs I realized I was not smart enough on the security front to even attempt such a thing. It was quickly shut down and the MX record moved to an outsourced mail provider.
Yes I complete my census survey that seems like a valid function of government.
I do not register for a political party as I believe voting is an immoral act. I have no right to tell anyone how to live there life. If I were to vote for a candidate I would be indirectly telling others how they should live. If I were to vote for a ballot measure I would be directly telling others how they should live.
Someone recently challenged me on that stance and I’m revaluating it slightly. They asked if I would vote to restore a freedom that had been taken away. I haven’t fully wrestled with that yet, but I’m starting to think that I might should the situation occur.
It could well be.
I believe in not being surveilled by my government. That is a core belief. So you could say that yes I do believe in some things very deeply.
I think I might do anything that might prevent that from happening to me again.
Can you expect anything else given the current administration had her added to the Quiet Skies list?
Have you ever driven a vehicle on a public road?
Sound advice, but not always possible as the cop that left the man unconscious in the road so he could dodge the vehicle knew.
So not only are they responsible for the death of someone who didn’t need to die, they are also responsible for the trauma of the driver who killed the person.
That is a fantastic ride! Growing up my mom has a white Galaxies 500 with blue interior. It was an amazing car.
I’ve been on my project for 23 years. I haven’t written production code for ten of those years. There are still commits in the production branch with my name on them. Is both gratifying and mortifying.
I was talking with two other “old-timers” today about our inability to pay off tech debt because our teams are never given the time to do it
I hate ladders! In fact they terrify me. While others in this world are graceful and coordinated, I most certainly am not, so every time I’m on a ladder my brain insists on telling me all the things that my awkwardness might cause to happen.
That said, this past Saturday I was on a ladder. While on that ladder I managed to a) hold a nail against the wall and b) hammer said nail into the wall. That took two hands. Drawing a weapon takes one.
And if the report above is correct, he saw a person with a gun, tucked his tail between his legs and ran.
In this thread we have heard “no big deal, it’s the Secret Service’s job to protect Trump.” We have also heard “it’s local police’s job to protect the crowd.”
Perchance did you see the Secret Service’s response to gun shots? A half dozen of them ran into the line of fire and surrounded the person they were charged to protect.
The cop saw a gun, knew there were hundreds of people in harm’s way and scarpered. While the secret service put themselves in harms way to do their jobs.
Alright, so what did this cop do to protect the crowd? I do believe at least once person in the crowd died.
I was the first Red Hat Certified Engineer in the state of Oregon.
This relationship can be saved as long as the guy’s wife does not start expressing an interest in Emacs. That would, of course, put an end to the relationship, but if she’s one of those “Notepad is all I need” types, there is hope this can be worked through.
From what I’ve read it was already unplayable…
… On any platform
Well that’s the end of me ever doing anything productive for the rest of my life.
