6 days agoYeah I think we both agree that nuclear is worth pursuing, it’s not 100% safe but nothing is; even windmills catch fire or spin apart. It’s far safer than fossil fuels.

Yeah it looks bombed-out as fuck to anything more complicated than plant-life. I’m not saying we shouldn’t be pursuing nuclear energy, just that this argument feels very poorly constructed and intentionally misleading.
1·11 days agoConversely, my partner and I don’t have kids so a small kitchen is really the only “bonus” an AirBNB can offer. We’re usually able to find hotel rooms with a small fridge and just stock-up on easy to store, fresh food to offset the cost of dining out. Given that they’re roughly the same price now we’ve been opting for more and more hotel rooms just for the consistency. At least in a hotel if there’s an issue they’ll quickly swap/upgrade the room just to avoid hassle.
“Investment properties” shouldn’t even be a thing.
They’re really just good vehicles for other flavors, like bread or potatos.
Friend I’ve worn 50 different brands at a dozen different price points, until you’re a podiatrist you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about.
Bro I have bad feet after years of wearing shitty chucks and vans. $100 is like the entry level for good “adult” shoes. Even then you’re probably walking around in some neon Asics or something.

What kind of kitchen doesn’t have milk in it? Even the hardest-core vegan cafe would have some kind of passable milk substitute right?
Next thing you know they’ll be saying they don’t have salt.
The thing is, if you take care of it, the pan will outlive the owner. There’s just not many products with that kind of life these days.

Not the other commenter BUT, It took the right wing 7 decades to drag the country as far right as they have. We’re here now and I suspect the left won’t be able to drag it back in any less honestly.
The other commenter already answered your question. There needs to be a generational shift in the party. The way that happens is by running strong, local candidates that can take control of the conversation and push their ideas, that’s how you win in a democracy. The other option is to coup.
Look at what the right has done over decades, they’ve seized control of local and state legislatures across the country. They ran candidates in places that were easy to win and in seats nobody wanted. There are conspiracy theorists on school boards deciding what can be taught, it’s wild.
My plan is simple and I repeat it as often as I can, especially to trans and BIPOC friends. Voting is the absolute minimum you can do to participate. Network with like-minded people around you. The police will not protect our communities. Get a gun or two (a long one and a short one) and learn how to use them. Learn some basic first aid, you just need to be able to stabilize someone.
Israel is entirely dependent on the US
Israel has a robust economy and is quite capable of conducting the war it wants all on its own.
Well, not “communist” capital C, but certainly socialist, or at least with socialist leanings.
For example private land ownership isn’t really a thing in China, making essentially all natural resources defacto state-owned. It’s actually a really interesting idea IMO.

I back up pretty much everything, I guess a lot of the confusion is based on my phrasing, I was considering a RAID in your closet a physical backup while obviously the media there is being stored digitally.
Do you not back that thing up once you have it?
edit: it’s assumed you pirated it initially as this is a piracy magazine.
It’s weird to me that apparently nobody backs up their pirated stuff and just assumes they’ll able to torrent it again in 10 years.
I actually used to open them up and snip the wires, you don’t get to hear it POST but that never really became an issue.
