Tech lover, nazi hater.
Yes but the dogs don’t even care about the grass. They like exploring around the bushes and shrubs.
After much searching I figured out there are no true native lawns in my area (Zone 10b, SF Bay Area, California). The native grasses are all bunch grass. I originally wanted the grass for the dogs but see they don’t even care so the new plan is native plants with earthen walkways.
The grass didn’t bother me until I let it grow long and seed.
Current grass is slowly being removed. Wanted to have a little grass for my dogs but the native grasses are bunch grass which does not make a lawn. Decided I’d like to have native plants with earthen pathways in between.
This is all very slow because my wife wants me to focus attention/time on the inside of our 100+ year old house.
The create post format changed and I thought I could add a pic and a link. Fixed.
Forgot about this beauty I saw a few months ago. 740IL
Yes, I take pics of cars I like.
Interestingly I took a pill this morning and was able to dig up some invasives without issue. Tomorrow I’m going to try lightly spraying with water to keep the pollen down and going at the tall grass.
I’ve got some plans for other areas of the yard however my wife said no plants until I finish a few things indoors. :(
I agree with mowing. Due to the pollen and the foxtails mowing is better until I replace the grass. It will be a little while and I’m ok with that. There are a few areas I removed invasives and want to get some natives in there to stop the weeds.
It’s a work in progress.
I see flowers but where are the wild fowl? :)
Why did you tell me this?
Odd timing as my wife just asked about cancelling Netflix. We are not currently watching anything they have.
Moved from Twitter to Mastodon in November. I spend less time on Mastodon than I did on Twitter but I feel much less anxious afterwards.
Lemmy has lots of potential and I’m excited for it. Even started a community for my city (Oakland).
I was in NYC that day. Every anniversary I get depressed. Cannot imagine what families that lost loved ones think about this Saudi deal.
I was surprised how fast is downloaded and installed when I tried it out last night.
You make many good points. I skimmed the article and thought it was a good idea for desert areas but honestly have no zero knowledge of desert landscaping.
