Replaced with who or what?
What’s there to take? Like, these guys are working for free running on their enthusiasm and passion. You make them question whether the community is really worth their time, even if they relent for now, how does that do reddit any good? It isn’t like reddit has any actual power over the mods on their ultimate decision of quiting.
Which is fine. Do you really think a bunch of people who don’t care will build a thriving community after Reddit hammers them once, twice, three times, over and over?
Then they will say it is more efficient to merge the donations with regular revenue and make bulk donations every quarter or something.
I mean, if they say “you have to pay 3 bucks a month to use 3rd party client” I would be annoyed but I would understand, and I would still be on reddit.
I don’t think he even consider people not right around him his employees.
You can’t. If you are on beehaw you need a beehaw account to respond.
But why do you need to be on beehaw? Is the community you want to look at not available to lemmy.world?
Top of the home page there should be a switch to select showing all comments vs posts.
I am only 90 hours in, can’t really comment.
So far so good.
Don’t underestimate them. They do hold the most number of patents in solid state battery. They weren’t exactly sitting idle over the past few decades.
Most competitive games stresses me out. I have probably 1k hours in WoT and WoWS. I know I should be enjoying the small moments and not worry about winning as much, but I just can’t do it.
Haven’t done it myself, just missing a lot of the knowledge, but suspect just a regular PC is enough if you are hosting for a small group of people. I was thinking to just build an instance for myself to sub other communities.
Oh no you will be completely fine. Each instance is a different server. They practically encourage people to go to various instances to decrease the load on popular instances. Like, if you are good with this you might as well set up your own instance. It is the same set of communities you get access to anyway.
Is this a beehaw thing? Try a different instance?
No they see it, and I can see how they have to make money to support their operations. Lemmy will have similar problems and we will have to pitch in. Bu that’s fine, let’s talk and let’s figure something out. You don’t just shut the door and command people to pay up.
Hey I am sorry you have to learn it this way, but yes, you do get a party hat too. I got my right here.
