kiol@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Looking for volunteers to help host Tahoe-LAFS!English1·12 days agoBecause multiple people asked about setting this up, so it is a group effort. Certainly doesn’t have to happen.
kiol@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Looking for volunteers to help host Tahoe-LAFS!English1·12 days agoWell, I hadn’t hadn’t thought about that. Will definitely think about it.
kiol@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Looking for volunteers to help host Tahoe-LAFS!English1·12 days agoI was looking at pip/python instructions. https://tahoe-lafs.readthedocs.io/en/latest/Installation/install-tahoe.html Seems there are docker compose instructions https://tahoe-lafs.readthedocs.io/en/latest/running.html#development-with-docker

kiol@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Looking for volunteers to help host Tahoe-LAFS!English1·12 days agoI’m literally learning about it just like yourself.

kiol@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What AI services are you selfhosting? Or, have tested and passed onEnglish1·2 months agoWhat else did you try and what was lacking?
kiol@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What AI services are you selfhosting? Or, have tested and passed onEnglish1·2 months agoI find your experiments inspired. Thank you! I’m learning about this myself on an rtx and excited to discuss on my little podcast.james.network one of these days. Been using paperless minus the AI functionality so far. About to start testing different AI services on an arm64 device with 16gb ram that claims some level of AI support; will see how that goes. Let me know if there are any other specific services/models you’d recommend or are curious about.

kiol@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What AI services are you selfhosting? Or, have tested and passed onEnglish1·2 months agoHow do you like auto1111 as I’ve never head of it
kiol@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What AI services are you selfhosting? Or, have tested and passed onEnglish1·2 months agoafaik Ollama would fit that bill, but perhaps others can chime in. You could probably run it on your local computer with a small model based on CPU alone.
kiol@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What AI services are you selfhosting? Or, have tested and passed onEnglish1·2 months agoNot sure I know what that is. As in Hoarder?
kiol@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What AI services are you selfhosting? Or, have tested and passed onEnglish1·2 months agoHave to agree on that. Certainly only makes sense to have up when you are using it.

kiol@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What AI services are you selfhosting? Or, have tested and passed onEnglish2·2 months agoWell, let me know your suggestions if you wish. I took the plunge and am willing to test on your behalf, assuming I can.
Well, it is a podcast that is self-hosted and also focusing on self-hosting, Linux, DIY, and fully open source tools. My goal is to DIY everything possible using free and open tools. This episode is about going to a recent Linux conference, visiting a makerspace, and discussing distributed file shares of Tahoe-LAFS between a number of self-hosters.
