Sorry about that.

You can disable it to install stuff if you want.
Check out VanillaOS. I think it’s pretty neat. Their webpage doesn’t really get into the benefits as much as I think they should, but a very quick summary is that it leverages distrobox and some custom package manager to allow you to seamlessly install and run packages from other distros. It’s also kind of an immutable OS (but not really). It lets you pick which types of apps you want during the install (snaps, fltapak, AppImage, etc)
I am not super in the loop about why people are so against snaps, but I don’t like the centralized nature of them, and if that’s also the general concern, then flatpak should be fine, since it’s decentralized.
I saw a couple youtube videos about VanillaOS; I could certainly find you one of them if you want to know more.
I don’t understand. Surely they have foods that are vegan besides bread and water, right? Like, some vegetable being served or something?
Apparently I didn’t dig deep enough! Thanks a lot for the heads up.
Seems neat. I wish there were a way to add custom fields; I would totally use this to keep track of my liquor cabinet contents. (I use a spreadsheet for this now.)
I know it’s not the general use case this though, but that didn’t keep me from getting my hopes up haha.
That cable is rated properly for your use, though the one from your OP is also properly rated, and very broadly the stuff you get from Amazon from a reputable brand is going to be fine. The dock is probably fine, as well.
The monitor shouldn’t affect anything regarding charging, as long as you pay attention to the ports you use, as detailed in my other comment.
What he means is that these multi-device chargers can’t supply the power they say to everything all at once. Additionally, many of them have specific ports that supply different wattages when more than one port is used, and some even have ports that just don’t supply as much power as others.
Yours specifically has these quirks, as you can see here. So ensure you’re always using the port farthest away from the USB-A connector when charging your steam deck.
Hey man you can’t control what you like.
I personally might have enjoyed it more if it hadn’t been (seemingly) shoehorned into the Star Trek universe. I understand it’s not a very subjective metric, but Discovery just didn’t feel like Star Trek.
It comes across as if someone producer got pitched a sci-fi series with the plot of Discovery and thought, “This is great! It would be even better if we slapped Star Trek all over it!”
Was the show doing well at all? I appreciate that I might just be in my own little bubble, but I don’t know a single person that loves this show. Some people like it, but it’s always a milquetoast endorsement, like “It’s not bad” or “It seems like a good scifi series but it feels like Star Trek fan fiction”, etc.
I’m surprised they didn’t at least strongly suspect it was the end.
Especially when compared to Strange New Worlds, which is an, imo, amazing Star Trek series.
Keeping in mind that I’m just giving personal opinions, I found Discovery to be too… over acted? Maybe that was just how it was written but the end result, for me, was that I was constantly rolling my eyes while watching.
Picard seemed okay but in the end I didn’t like the obvious appeals to nostalgia, for me it felt like it leaned too heavily on it instead of trying to stand on its own as a good show.
I have no idea if my experiences align with the broader community or not, but I found myself forcing myself to watch each respective show so I didn’t bother watching when a new season came out.
Please don’t take my comment as anything but me sharing my experiences with someone else who is a fan of the franchise.
SNW I’m totally on board for, though. And I was hesitant about Lower Decks at first but it’s really a good show, imo. It’s so good that it has me questioning my decision to ignore The Orville for being too silly.
