112·9 months agoI’m guessing Israel wasn’t bombing hostages. Although that guess has been wrong a lot.

No, Al-Shifa was where Israel attacked the ambulance convoy and destroyed the hospital’s solar panels.
You clearly have no clue what you’re talking about. The hospital you’re referring to is Al-Ahli Arab Hospital. And the “rocket” from the footage you’re referring to has been proven to have been an Iron Dome projectile.
Israel has also attacked Al-Shifa hospital, Al-Quds hospital, the Indonesian hospital, the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship hospital, and the Qatari hospital described in the article.
7·1 year agoUnfortunately they’ve either learned nothing, or are more than happy to let it happen again - this time with the military. By 2026 or so there’s a very real chance that the military will be full of far right appointees that have no qualms about using nuclear weapons on population centers, carrying out genocides, employing the military against the American people, etc. etc. Just like the judiciary in 2014-2016, the military is full of vacancies waiting for the next far right president to fill overnight as soon as he takes power.
A. The 1.5 million people have not “escaped” or been displaced “from Gaza”, they’ve been forced to move to different places in the Gaza Strip: shelters predominantly. There’s no ingress/egress from Gaza. It’s basically a giant open-air prison.

Agreed. That’s why Israel shouldn’t be surprised that Hamas retaliated a couple of weeks ago after years of Israel’s large-scale killing sprees.

They weren’t eerily silent at all. There were Israeli military spokespeople bragging about it on X until they started seeing the backlash and deleted the tweets.

This is a pretty optimistic view. Inflation is (mostly) a one way street. The rate at which prices are rising might have slowed down, but the prices themselves aren’t going to go back down. That damage is already done. Come next year, I don’t think people are going to be thinking “I’m paying an extra dollar for a big mac than I was 4 years ago, but at least it didn’t go up another dollar this year too”
2·1 year agoGun manufacturers have special protection, specific legislation at the federal level singling them out to not be liable.
The US didn’t propose a ceasefire yet. In response to this ceasefire proposal they’ve said they’re working on a draft for a proposal. With an indeterminate ceasefire of indeterminate length to start at an indeterminate date.
But strangely, once actual dates and times get proposed, they bring out the veto.
One could argue that it sure looks like they’re trying to muddy the waters and give Israel cover.
