learning to casually flirt is hard! And you can’t learn it without trying and failing a few times… It was scary for me too. I agree with others that spending more time accepting and loving yourself would be beneficial. Another thing that would be beneficial to accept is chance of rejection. It’s not personal and also not a big deal if the person that expressed interest then moves on. I’ve made a mistake a few times really inflating my expectations and fueling my interest and then reacting very poorly to rejection, so that’s another thing I’ve tried to improve.

If you work on these barriers and take shots, you’ll get some practice and improve, and over time you’ll definitely have at least a few successful interactions which will be immensely helpful.

Why isn’t this an app?

The main reason for this is that I wanted to create a voice assistant that is completely offline and doesn’t require any internet connection. This is because I wanted to ensure that the user’s privacy is protected and that the user’s data is not being sent to any third party servers.

Weird reasoning, why constrain the assistant to pi’s power and memory when you can use it for interaction and utilize another, more powerful server at home

There’s so many personal devices one may need, but I don’t think they’re in a slump just because one product they released didn’t work. Apple Silicon has been pretty revolutionary and it was only a few years ago.

I set it up last month. I’ve rarely experienced had such a smooth setup process. Was putting it off for years because I had assumed I would need at least several hours. Right now I have one on a server and then every device syncs to it (thought it would be easy to set up backups that way)

Typescript is the only way I can agree to code in Javascript. And the only way you can have a sane project without writing double or triple the amount if unit tests for each function just to check things that a compiler would do. However it is absolutely a lipstick on a pig thing with confusing behavior sometimes, but that’s because the underlying language it is trying to make bearable is bonkers

If you were able to set it up yourself I feel like nix learning curve shouldn’t be too hard for you. Especially since if you decide to go back, you’ll bring back lots of value - you can use nix package manager and home manager on any distro. I’m very interested to try them out but am a bit wary since I don’t have experience with nixos

not sure what to answer, I made clear in my comment that github is also problematic, discord is simply worse, therefore they’re not the same like the original commenter said. I’m hoping both of them will fuck up like reddit and twitter did and more people will make effort to move away from it.
