Yeah it made me pretty unhappy to see the “News” community just be an American news feed, and to know that this dumb yank moderates the “World News” community with the same pigheaded USA-centric attitude that we’ve come to expect from Americans is disheartening.

I can’t do Db0 because they love AI over there and I sort of don’t feel comfortable joining a bunch of anti-human dorks looking at a feed of robot slop, so that’s out of the picture, but I’ll find somewhere!

Personally, I block people who espouse things I believe are genuinely spiteful, hateful, or shitty. Generally, I use the block button to “curate” my experience with the intention that I can use Lemmy as brief escapism when I’m in the bathroom or on the train without having my mood affected by somebody posting something shitty.

I don’t block anyone for normal disagreements, because I’m a relatively normal adult and as such that sort of thing doesn’t bother me.

I have absolutely no issue with self-publishing. A close friend of mine is a self-published author and I think she rocks. I understand it’s work, of course.

I just think vtubers are fuckin stupid. I think YouTubers are, generally, shit.

In my opinion, personally. I am so in favour of people producing creative and artistic works, whatever that means to them, and to be clear I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek with my initial comment, but it’s just absolutely not for me. Like Twitch streamers. 😂

Yeah there are a lot of BG3 fans that are a bit unwilling to hear any criticism. Which is fine, they’re passionate about something they really love and they don’t need to hear my opinion 😅 You just kind of have to ignore a lot of them when you want to discuss the game.

It is sad that there are such few cases in an industry that could be so artistic! I wanna make it clear that I do have a lot of respect for indie Devs like Team Cherry for the way they’re working and the way they’re not exploiting their fans.

I have no strong feelings on whether this game, or Hollow Knight, are overhyped and I know they’re beloved. I enjoyed Hollow Knight.

I also do understand being sceptical of “beloved” products. There’s a lot of sneaky marketing tactics out there. I’m very anti-advertising, so I know I’m biased and probably a little paranoid lol

I’m absolutely not saying Team Cherry is doing some sneaky grassroots marketing campaign or anything, and I do believe that Silksong has a lot of people excited which is why we’re seeing so much chatter about it! We are not disagreeing.
