gigachad@piefed.socialto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is the number of Lemmy users increasing?English13·4 days agoI finally switched to PieFed now that Voyager has more or less stable support for it. Fuck the Lemmy tankie devs
gigachad@piefed.socialto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How many people do you have blocked?English6·8 days agoOnly Nicole. I just tag the propaganda spammers like [@[email protected] using Voyager, so I don’t need to read their posts first, but that’s it. Instance wise however I blocked lemmy.ml and ani.social
We are now supposed to call it “X” sir
gigachad@piefed.socialto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever cried because of a video game?English2·17 days agoFinal Fantasy IX and X, Detroit: Become Human
gigachad@piefed.socialto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you do when homeless folks ask for money?English2·18 days agoI usually don’t give money, but once a year give 100€ or so to our local homeless support organization, who are also regularly giving out meals and coffee.
gigachad@piefed.socialto Map Enthusiasts@sopuli.xyz•Which country gets the most paid time off?English9·20 days agoWell this map also includes Sudan, I doubt it is possible/useful to make a statistic about a country that is at civil war.
gigachad@piefed.socialto Games@lemmy.world•Xbox Series X and S: Microsoft Has Reportedly Sold Less Than 30 Million Consoles This GenerationEnglish25·21 days agoBecause companies fucked up consoles. All we ever wanted was split screen games with our friends on the couch. Not a single-player-only Need for Speed for 70€ I can only play with an online subscription with random people over the internet.
They made consoles more and more similar to computers over the years, instead of focusing on the social character consoles used to have.
Which seems uninformed and ridiculous as Deep Learning for classification and regression problems is an absolute valid tool that cannot be replaced anymore in many domains. I don’t care about LLM bullshit, but being “against Deep Learning in general” is stupid.
gigachad@piefed.socialto Linux@programming.dev•Finland: Linux reaches desktop market share of 19.1% in July - up from 5.4% in JanuaryEnglish3·21 days agoI searched the internet an found and alternative platform to the Threadiverse where this was discussed (something starting with R, I don’t remember).
So actually I don’t know shit about Finland, but it seemed like the only explanation yet that makes sense. But if you’re Finnish I guess you know a lot more about how it works up there!
gigachad@piefed.socialto Linux@programming.dev•Finland: Linux reaches desktop market share of 19.1% in July - up from 5.4% in JanuaryEnglish58·22 days agoI think schools and universities in Finland are giving out free computers with Linux installed for a few years now.
gigachad@piefed.socialto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What AI tools have you found useful?English3·23 days agoI use predictive AI for certain classification tasks daily at work, however I call that Deep Learning and not AI. I don’t want to be too specific, but you can imagine we are classifying certain objects - is this a traffic light, is this a tree etc. It is a task that cannot be solved geometrically very good, so Deep Learning is the perfect use case there.
gigachad@piefed.socialto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Are you fucking kidding me?! I hate anything that requires verification and codes!English4·2 months agoKeePass is too. But it has no cloud support. However, I actually prefer this, just syncing may password database between my devices using syncthing. I read that bitwarden seems to have a bit more modern UI and is easier to use, but as I am used to KeePass I am happy with it. I guess both solutions are fine!
gigachad@piefed.socialto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Are you fucking kidding me?! I hate anything that requires verification and codes!English7·2 months agoI use KeePass. What is the advantage of bitwarden over KeePass?
I think Mexico’s problems with obesity are more likely to come from McDonalds & co instead of traditional food such as tacos. But maybe you are right.
