same so much rn omg i’m getting a heart attack >:3 🥲

i don’t like to make this edit because i really really understand the vibe of your comment and want to go along with it; however i unfortunately have to report that the rampant levels of reporting about “sexual harassment” have led many girls my age when i was a teenager to basically have a deep hatred for all men, or so it seemed. i remember a few incidences where i clearly got along nicely with people but we couldn’t get closer because of some stupid societal rules that instruct women to be afraid of all men. stupid times we live in. (i’m saying this because these complaints should be heard. the fight that was superficially and supposedly about “women’s rights” has inflicted incredible damage on some things.)

  • Yes, it is possible. I think it will be something like this:

where proprietary software will eventually be replaced by FOSS software. it just takes a while (Linux was released in 1991).

also, for social media, it’s not so much about the software used, more about who controls it, and hosting plays a significant part in this. the question is, how do we put up an organization large enough to actually sustain that many users?

who pays for image/short video upload for a billion people? small instances on the fediverse already cost real money. feddit.org has 1000 users and reportedly already costs $1000/month to host, IIRC (which seems expensive, even to me, anyways), and catbox.moe, which is a donation-funded service also costs around $1000 (says so on their website). that number would obviously increase sharply if there were more users. So: who pays for it?

do those orbits get larger over time?

    Yes, I think they do.

I think that expansion doesn’t increase distance, but velocity between objects (or so was my interpretation back when I looked at the formulas). That means that moving objects speed up over time. As such, orbital velocities increase, too, and that lifts their orbit - similar to when a rocket on a closed orbit propulses forward.

But I might be wrong; I feel 70% certain about this one.
