I’m blocking a bunch of .world communities and “power users” because of how toxic they are. The same stupid memes over and over insulting people who don’t want to vote for a pro-genocide candidate, condescending attitudes, calling people tankies/bots/shills/Russians etc. I don’t consider that “real engagement”. I consider it self-congratulatory preaching to the choir. No wonder some people are hostile to that kind of nonsense.

When democrats go to the right on issues, they don’t attract republican voters. What happens instead is that republicans go even farther right in order to differentiate themselves from democrats.

We will never be going back. Lesser-evilism has led to incrementally more evil, not less. Trump and Trumpism are symptoms of the sickness, not the cause. Liberals love Obama, but after eight years of him we got Trump! What has our political leadership --our democracy– done to address the problems that brought about Trump? Obama before, Biden in the interim, yet here we are. Everyone has moved to the right.

Lesser-evilism has gotten us to where we find ourselves today: bargaining with genocide. If you don’t stop now, I wonder what it would take.

Sometimes there are “issues” that we must absolutely not compromise on. “Why gain the world to lose your soul?”

I never sit it out. I don’t believe it makes any difference, but I do it anyway. Our leaders are all “fashy types” no matter what. I’ve been voting and active since '96 and every president has been a war criminal. Every single time, I watch people pretend like one is the devil, and the other is an earnest agent of good. They’re always both the devil.

Democracy (if we ever even had it) died a long time ago.

Trump is an infamous liar. You feel like he would be worse for Palestinians, because you feel like Trump is bad (he is) and that Biden/Harris/Walz are good (they aren’t). The results from the dem leadership have been total support for genocide that is still ongoing.

I’m looking at results: full throated political, and unlimited material support for genocide. Currently. Ongoing. You have a feeling that Trump will be worse ‘somehow’. There is no result to indicate this. Only the campaign bluster of a famous liar.

Trump has to say things that differentiate him from democrats. He wants to look ‘tougher’. This is a fucked up result of democrats moving right on things like this and “border security”. Democrat leadership is already doing everything it can to support Israel. Can you think of anything more they could do, that Trump would say “good job, no notes”? Trump talks a lot of shit, but he hasn’t said he would send US troops (Biden already has, BTW).

From my perspective, I am the one that cares about results more than feelings, and “blue no matter who” voters are the opposite. The results of democrat leadership have been a horror show of ghoulish support for genocide. The current administrations policies have directly resulted in tens of thousands of deaths (at least) in Gaza. I see a lot of democrats expressing feelings about how Biden and Kamala are actually good people, and are working hard towards a ceasefire. Let me know when to expect another result.
