I work in IT, everyone in the workplace that doesn’t work in IT is basically a child when it comes to computers, so I can explain computers to a child.
Not casting aspersions or anything, but after the 5th time you’ve taught the same 63 year old doctor how to use a mouse you start to recognize a pattern, and I’ve been doing it long enough that I have started to successfully guess and solve the problem while people are still trying to find the words to describe the problem to me.
Best: None. Weddings are pretty boring. I had fun at mine I guess but I got chewed out afterwards because people kept coming to me and asking me to do things and apparently I was supposed to be glued to my new wifes side the whole time.
Worst: Went to a friends wedding, somehow got mistaken as the groom by the priest, which I cleared up, but then during the ceremony the priest said, “I believe that with the power of Jesus any marriage can work, even between people of different races” while looking directly at me, the only non-white (Lakota) person in the entire room.

My work decided to close for Juneteenth, but then I had to come back on Friday, and I told everyone I was going to request that Friday off so I could have a four-day weekend for the price of one day of PTO, and I forgot to do it, so I had to work a weird bizarroland hellscape Friday where we had just had a day off so we have like a little bit more energy than usual, but then the weekend is also about to hit so everyone wanted to leave, but everyone also wanted to get all of their work done, so for me it was just a fucking nightmare.
How is it possible to regret eating blueberries? Like, I need more details.
If you have the lid closed, you’re looking at 3 to 15 watts to have a laptop running in the background doing some basic server shit.
Maybe a little more under high load, but those are going to be intermittent and not constant.
I’m just saying it’s not that much more electricity usage, and the recycling more than offsets the CO2.

Keep your eyes open for opportunities. Sure, you work in insurance, but surely they need ads and signs and such, maybe you can independently put forth a few products in the environment you work in and make a name for yourself serving the needs you find where you find them.
I work in IT now, but I used to be a musician. Some of my music has been used in training videos for companies I’ve worked for, evne though I didn’t get any credit I got paid my normal wages to make music. I learned image editing and creation in gimp and some of my images have been used in multi-million dollar court cases.
Being a jack of all trades is typically looked down on by snooty people who don’t know that the full saying is, “Jack of All Trades, Master of None, Oftentimes better than a Master of One”.
