So I’ve been messing with my corporate laptop…
This is what we call a “bad idea”.

This right here. If a bit of soap and scrubbing takes off your seasoning - you didn’t have real seasoning in the first place!
Can’t speak to anti-cheat, but I’ve run a Windows 11 VM with GPU passthrough on Proxmox. I got basically identical performance from the hardware, considering the reduced ram/cpu count in the VM. USB port passthrough was glitchy though. I didn’t spend too much time messing with it but it definitely was functional. Battlenet (World of Warcraft, Overwatch, etc…) worked fine. I don’t recall any game that didn’t run but, again, I didn’t do too much.
Yep, didn’t mean it to sound like I was putting it down. Sounds like a cool concept.
Just signed up myself, about 40k in line it seems. Sounds like reinventing Trillian/Gaim/Pidgin/etc…
Advance Wars for GBA was up there for me (below any Zelda game). I’ve got my eyes on the Switch remake, but holding until I can find it on sale.
I too am in the “Only stuck on Windows for gaming” crowd. My previous jaunt going full Linux was by far the most successful, but Nvidia’s poor Linux support and performance once again led me back to the Microsoft world on Desktop.
re: context menu
Don’t trust me here, or any post giving commands like this. You can search for steps to revert the context menu to pre-simplified versions. You can do the same as this command manually using regedit and finding the correct keys/etc… After this, reboot and you have your menu back to a usable state.
reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve
“The blog post does note that you’ll have permanent access to the Overwatch 2: Invasion story missions…”
Yeah, after I bought Overwatch and can’t access it at all I have little trust for dropping more money on anything Overwatch 2.
Very wholesome.
