Against the Storm! It’s a roguelite citybuilder set in an apocalyptic world where you build settlements in a short amount of time to complete objectives and hopefully survive. While it borrows some mechanics from some city builders, I haven’t played anything quite like it’s unique blend yet. Plus the artstyle is pretty reminiscent of Warcraft but prettier.
It’s in early access right now but it’s basically a complete game at this point.
This just reminded me to finish Atelier Rorona… at some point in the future lol
TIL tvtropes has those tropes. I only knew about the Broken Base page. I am so keeping those for reference.
[email protected] for Yakuza/Like a Dragon
If she has a youtube channel as well it might be Food4Dogs.
It kind of warms my heart to see people of all ages still gaming. If people are allowed to enjoy other forms of entertainment, gaming should be there as well.
Bannerlord! Been sitting in my library for a while now, finally got the time to play it.
Oh man there’s a lot of games I’m looking forward to lol… Probably half of my Steam wishlist are just upcoming or Early Access games
Some of them include
Cautiously optimistic about Starfield as well
I’ve heard good things about Kavita for comic book management. Currently using calibre-web personally but i might switch eventually.
That’s exactly the type of work I use it for lol
I love Amplitude Studios soundtracks (Endless Legend, Endless Space 1&2, Humankind). They’re great background music while thinking about stuff (like at work). Though maybe I just got Pavlov’d into thinking that since they’re strategy games 😅
Also, Persona 4! The soundtrack is so nostalgic and reminds me of my childhood somehow.
FTL! This game was probably my first introduction to roguelites back when I was still a wee little lad. Loved the space aesthetic, and the combat system was pretty unique for the time I thought. Runner-up would probably be Noita (roguelite trend here). If we’re including DOS era games, I’d add Centurion: Defender of Rome (predecessor to Total War games) and Sword of the Samurai (Mount and Blade but in Sengoku-era Japan).
Having come from an Abrahamic school background, I’m curious about the sources for #3. It is true that the meaning of the story has been twisted to justify misogyny, and that was how it was taught to us back in school.
