  • Fahrenheit/ Indigo Prophecy, an early David Cage/ Quantic Dream game from the same people who made Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human

I haven’t played it in forever so I’m not sure how well it holds up (if at all) and I also have a love/hate relationship with it.

It has one of the single worst/ cheap levels of any game I have ever played*, and in the very last level the story really shits the bed. On the other hand it was doing things at the time that I still haven’t seen in other games. (I haven’t gotten around to playing his other games so he might be doing similar things in them). In terms of attempting to evolve the way stories are told in games it was truly groundbreaking and unique for its time.

I still have fond memories of playing it despite it’s flaws. I’d say it’s worth playing for anyone interested in a older game that does some really interesting things from a story telling perspective and/or people who are fans of the later games and are curious to see where it started. As long as you can make it through the QTE level with your sanity intact and are prepared for the story to get stupid right at the end- it’s worth a playthrough imo

*Even though I hate the level, the concept behind it is actually pretty cool. A malevolent force tries to kill the player character by throwing his apartment at him. The problem is it’s a 4 1/2 minute QTE sequence that requires precise timing and you can’t mess up even one time or you have to start the entire thing over from the beginning. You also have plenty of time to wonder why the force never varies it’s strategy of throwing one object at a time. Good idea, terrible execution.

but what if the slaves are racially distinct and portrayed as weaklings and ugly?

Oh well that’s clearly different, especially if they are outspoken about how much they love serving their masters. I mean, it’s not like there is any way to magically manipulate how beings think in the Harry Potter universe.

Sure, if you happen to already know where the Wedell Sea is or if you look it up it you can reasonably locate it, in which case adding the “north of Antarctica” part is superfluous. But if you don’t already know where the Wedell Sea is, adding in the “north of Antarctica” part doesn’t actually narrow it down any, which is why it’s a funny thing to point out.

If they had wrote “just north of Antarctica” or “off the coast of Antarctica” or “near Antarctica”, that would have narrowed it down significantly.

Now that I have thoroughly explained the joke, I imagine it’s much funnier now.

I’m sure that “Mark “Three-Jabs” Newton” and the rest of us who found this funny were able to deduce from the context that is actually what the writer meant . That isn’t what they actually wrote though so “sp3ctr4l” is not only incorrect in asserting that Mark has “poor reading comprehension”, he is also wrong that ‘reading the whole thing’ would have clarified things and was extremely condescending about his incorrect statement at the same time, which makes him kind of an ass imo.

He was correct that Mark was “intentionally being a little shit” so 1 out of 3 wouldn’t have been so bad if he weren’t such a douche about it at the same time.

  • Why would you mow the grass right after it rains?

Edit: You are comparing an unrelated “pleasant” smell (I’m neutral on cut grass, but I get your point) with something that people already know how it’s supposed to smell.

With fragrances, neither males or females naturally smell like flowers. A lot of women seem to enjoy smelling/smelling like flowers.

As a man I also enjoy smelling flowers (but I’m not big on artificial fragrances in general) so I don’t feel like a grass smelling cake is a good comparison.

  • Hence why I said that wasn’t the only factor in determining my vote.

The question is though, where will it end? I’m 51 years old and ever since I have been able to vote the choices have been between a shit bag, and an even worse shit bag.

At some point we have to put pressure on the DNC to put up someone who is actually woth voting for, and if they know we will always vote for the lesser evil, what incentive do they have to change their strategy?

Harris was already a Republican in all but name and she only looked good compared to Hitler 2.0, if this trend continues the only “choice” will be between a far right fascist, and an extremely far right fascist.
