Ha ha wasn’t it that one like text only, often in poems, and meat was the money?

I understand the urge, but those games were not pay to play. Making each action quite important, like if you die in battle you might have to walk for two weeks to catch up with your group, or if a teleporter helped you out you could get there in 3…
Mebbe it’s soon time to go home?!!
Jpeg for lossy photos, png for lossless, gif for 256 color animations, what else?
And explain thoroughly the lineages of all families ofc!

3·16 days agoThat’s what I’m looking for but the question would be, which comic, and where to publish it? I’m targeting hacker/nerd people.

4·16 days agoGood idea, I’ll try it out!
So much better!
The french is insane for programming 😓
Or had to use the keybord by memory.
He could just let them win different years/competitions…
Makes me remember this.
I spent an insane effort of uploading one (1) document to the french government once. First you are allowed only one document but they needed 5 different, so I spent some time figuring out how to combine 5 pdfs into one, not a biggie but well, how convenient eh.
Then I spent 4 days trying to upload the 800kb document which I figured was under the 10MB limit. FF, chrome, mobile, PC, you name it. It just “didn’t upload”.
Then it just hit me on the fourth day, probably because I started to slowly go insane, that soneone who programmed this stuff thought that the “number of MB must be 1 to 10”, not more, not less…
I was quite desperate, but who knows right? I added two grayish pages to my document to get over that 1MB and LO AND BEHOLD, it worked…
Thank you for coming to my rant 😊
Fantastic name already 😁

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How, exactly, does one make a living as a mathematician?
1·28 days agoYeah it’s maybe more insidious with a 2% loss rate too. I went to a casino once in my lifetime because friends, lost like 20€ split in 4 actions, and that’s it. Had I been able to play for 20 minutes, gaining a little but eventually losing it all I might have felt I got something for the money for example.

Is it so that the cash builds up and augments the chance of winning the more you lose (reward mechanism)? I read somewhere the coins were physically dumped in a bucket (huess some went yo the bank) and the heavier it weights the bigger the chance of winning it (like when completely full you insta-win). Guess if it existed it was an ooold machine :-)

I haven’t heard of the contamination problem, do you have any info about that?
They had a kill gene so some crazy inventor wouldn’t kill humanity, or that was the reason I heard back in the day…

Yeah the dark pattern (ability to pay for “fun” / no “fun” if you don’t pay) is so bullshit. Usually they build the whole game around it too, like in your example.
