The recipe is Swiss, from a popular series of cookbooks called Betti Bossi, I believe Germans and Austrians have versions as well.

Wähe (pronounced vai-hey) is the base recipe, and the sweet ones are lovely and custardy. There are also savory versions that are more quiche-like.

We did enjoy it! Wingspan works well for us as a 3 person game, especially since the three of us are bird nerds and learned it together, but I know what you mean about presenting it to a group.

We have Europe and Oceana expansions, I can’t remember which adds nectar as food but that really does improve the play.
